The bottom line with regards to football is goals.  Goals goals goals.  As David Coleman once said, 'Goals pay the rent, and [someone] does his share.'  But plenty of people who have never scored a goal in their lives can and do make a living from football.  Apart from those involved with the day to day running of a football club; secretaries, people in the ticket office, caterers, groundsmen and so on, there is a great trade in football related merchandise.  From programmes and ticket stubs, to vintage football shirts and trading cards, video and traditional games manufacturers the list is endless.  Of course this doesn't mention the myriad journalists and broadcasters who also make their living from the beautiful game.
