It's perhaps hard to imagine but please work with me. In the olden days, when there was no internet, if you wanted your fix of football talk and gossip, there were these things called magazines that people used to read.
Each to his (or rarely in those days, her) own. For the likes of me, born in the later 60s, there was Shoot! and Match. The older generation had been brought up on Charles Buchan's Football Monthly. Nowadays, with the plethora of media available upon which to produce and to receive information, the weekly or monthly football paper magazine is required to vie for its position with websites and apps, podcasts and the like.
Nowadays, Four Four Two and the likes of When Saturday Comes are available to buy at the local newsagent and also in soft copy formats on-line.
