1873 Scotland

Founded in 1873, the Scottish Football Association (SFA) is the second oldest in the world.

The first officially recognised football international was played between Scotland and England.  It took place on 30 November 1872 - obviously this was before the formation of the SFA so it took place under the auspices of the (English) Football Association.  The game was hosted by the West of Scotland Cricket Ground and finished with honours even in a 0-0 draw.
